HTML

Web designers out there celebrate it. Others loathe it. Well, I as just thinking, because the other day at school someone suggested to the teacher that we boycott studying HTML during IT lessons. I over-reacted, I must confess. I banged on the table and asked her, "What do you mean?" in this really menacing voice. Too bad that teacher didn't know what HTML was. I'm not angry with her. I was just angry with that classmate who suggested boycotting web-design classes. OK, I don't listen during IT lessons because the teacher is currently teaching what I already know. Fine, the teacher knows that. She lets me do my own work and design my own web pages during her class. But that classmate of mine, I couldn't stand it when she said that. I don't know why. Perhaps it's because I do feel passionate about web design. I love the time I spend typing out the code bit by bit onto Notepad. And just because she couldn't understand it, she wanted to 'boycott' it. Perhaps she meant it in a funny-ha-ha way, but too bad, I didn't get the joke. So there. I told her that she had to learn to appreciate the art of designing websites through HTML. I mean, maybe it's confusing sometimes (though it's not to me), but we still have to accept it, right? I really wanted to tell her what I thought - Without HTML, there would never be Mosaic, and there would never be Netscape, Microsoft Internet Explorer, and there would probably never be ICQ, IRC, and MSN Messenger. Too bad I didn't get the chance to tell her all that. And definitely there wouldn't be any DHTML, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, and what not. Ha. OK, I'm not angry now. Nor am I afraid that she is reading this. Go on and read all you want, girl, because this is my right to write whatever I want here. In HTML. So there.
